I blame the media. I can't believe I said it. But it's true. Far from being the tool of the "liberal left," the media as we traditionally think of it has done nothing but obfuscate the real issues, often to the benefit of our right-wing overlords. I think the most terrifying thing in the country right now is the public's inability to peer through the muddle and look at things that really matter. We've become so used to accepting what we see on television that we accept it as fact, no matter how bald-faced the lie. The entire Republican National Convention was a massive lie factory, as far as I could tell, and the whole thing made me sick to my stomach.
Will someone please explain to me how Sarah Palin, this Bush-in-heels nobody with no experience, is equipped to take over as President in the event of the death of a 73 year old man with known health problems? And why the team of this inexperienced woman and man running on the record of the man he was (who in no way resembles his recent words or actions) is tied in national polls with Obama/Biden in what should have been a blowout year?
Sometimes, I get so angry thinking about the entire situation that words simply fail me. I can just shake my head and dream of moving to Canada. (It's only about 6 hours away now.)
